Ballmer: we are not going to leave any space uncovered to Apple

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said that Microsoft will continue to compete against apple.

Speaking at the Partner conference, he said “we are trying to make absolutely clear we are not going to leave any space uncovered to Apple.”

Microsoft is currently working on a number of products which are expected to rock the market.

Ballmer added, he won’t let any pieces go uncontested to Apple. “Not the consumer cloud. Not hardware software innovation. We are not leaving any of that to Apple by itself. Not going to happen. Not on our watch.”

This means Microsoft is taking the competition with Apple very seriously. Presently Microsoft and Apple are the two industry leading companies who are often involved in “Tech” wars.

When asked about the possibility of Microsoft’s own smartphone, he said that they will see what happens.  He also said that the company has “good partners with Nokia, HTC in the phone space.”. So their focus is primarily on the Surface tablet, which was announced a few weeks ago.

So this ends up the possibility of Microsoft building their own WP8 smartphone. But it’s good to see that are trying to go neck to neck with Apple.
