Microsoft Launches New Skype Contest, Spectacle Wearer Of The Year

The technology titan has recently launched a special new Skype contest in collaboration with MGOMD, DG MediaMind and Specsavers called ‘Spectacle Wearer of the Year’.

This new contest is available for British Skype users who wear glasses.

Microsoft explained the details on the website:

“The campaign will appear on Skype’s interface, encouraging users to click on a display ad or leader board to activate their webcams. From there they can take a picture of themselves wearing glasses to enter the competition with the chance to win the top prize, a trip for two to St Lucia.”

The popular VoIP service is displaying a series of ads that encourage users in the United Kingdom to fire up their webcams and take a picture of them wearing spectacles.

Users can then upload their photo to the contest pages where it gets voted. A number of prizes are up for grabs, including a trip for two to St. Lucia. Additionally, Specsavers has also promised to donate £1 to Kidscape for every eligible entry.

And speaking of which, even though the contest has just begun, several people have already uploaded their images. If you are in the UK and feeling lucky, then make sure you enter this exciting new contest.

The contest actually runs till the end of June, and Microsoft is promoting it using special ads that are displayed on the British version of its MSN web portal.
