Nokia Lumia 1020 Press Images Leak Out, Hardware Specs Also Confirmed

The next flagship smartphone from the Finnish mobile phone maker has emerged online in a just leaked press image that confirms its impressive 41 megapixel camera.

Previously known under the codename of Nokia EOS (the AT&T flavor was codenamed Elvis, actually), the Nokia Lumia 1020 is shaping up to be a great option for users that are looking for great imaging capabilities inside their smartphones.

Nokia is expected to make the smartphone official at a special event on July 11.

The leaked details have emerged over at WPCentral, and along with a leaked press render, hardware specifications have also been detailed.

First up are the color options. The Nokia Lumia 1020 is set to arrive on store shelves in at least three color flavors, namely yellow, black and white. It will also feature Xenon and LED flash attacked to its 41 megapixel camera.

Speaking of which, the flagship handset looks set to provide imaging and photo capabilities that are unmatched at the moment. These include the ability to shot photos at 32MP and 5MP at the same time in a 16 by 9 aspect ratio.

It seems that the 5MP image is oversampled by merging 7 pixels into one “super pixel”, but there is also an option to shoot 38MP photos in a 4 by 3 aspect ratio.

Other hardware specifications are also top notch. The upcoming smartphone is said to house 2GB of RAM making it twice the amount of memory than what is available in the current Nokia Lumia flagship. Interestingly it is said to come without a microSD card slot, but features 32GB of internal storage.

The Lumia 1020 is said to be running under Windows Phone 8 (build 8.0.10322.71) and comes with the Nokia Amber update — meaning it will sport both an FM radio and Flip-to-Silence capabilities. Speaking of capabilities, the smartphone offers support for NFC and optional wireless charging backplates.

These may be as concrete as rumors get, but we will soon find out all the official details of this anticipated smartphone when Nokia makes it official later this week.
