256GB Surface Pro Now Available For Purchase In China

Even though the Surface Pro was originally launched in two flavors, 64GB and 128GB versions, Microsoft soon unleashed a special variant of its premier tablet aimed at power users that required more space for storing files on the device.

The 256GB version of the Surface Pro made its debut in Japan, but the technology titan soon hinted that the same model could arrive in the US and other markets later down the road.

Now it seems that the company is indeed trying to expand international retail availability of this particular unit.

LiveSide.net is reporting that the Surface Pro 256GB is now available for purchase in China (via Digital China), even though Microsoft is yet to publicly announce this.

In case you are wondering, the only difference between this and the previously available units of the Surface Pro is the expanded storage space — doubled from the 128GB version. No other special features or accessories are included, and this is a tablet squarely aimed at users that demand bigger storage.

China has, in recent time, taken center stage for the technology giant, as the company has intensified its efforts to make its products and services readily available in the country.

Redmond is also rumored to be working on an update to the Surface Pro, and the second generation slate is on track to be unveiled later this year along with Windows 8.1.
