Windows 8.1 Build 9461 Appears Online

It has been some time since we have had the pleasure of spotting a Windows 8.1 build, but here we are again. The public preview of Windows 8.1 has been out in the open for a month or so, but a new build of the operating system has appeared online.

Microsoft is on track to unleash the RTM version of Windows 8.1 next month, but the company continues to work on new versions of its upcoming operating system.

A brand new screenshot that just surfaced online reveals that Redmond has just completed the development of Windows 8.1 build 9461 — another sign that the public launch of the RTM version of the operating system is nearing.

As WinBeta notes this version most probably packs bug fixes and patches that address various issues and bugs reported by users over the weeks. A large number of users have installed the public preview version of Windows 8.1, and have been regularly posting bug reports on official Microsoft forums.

It is also likely that Microsoft consolidated several of the fixes and bundled them into a new build for hardware and software partners to test.

Insider sources have commented that the final RTM version of Windows 8.1 could go live sometime next month. End users could reportedly receive the upcoming operating system soon after that.
