Asus Transformer Book Trio To Hit US Shores Soon

Asus really has something going with the Transformer Book Trio, the 3-in-1 hybrid that has recently launched in a number of markets across the globe. Now it appears that it is set to land in the US soon.

Already available in Europe, Japan and Australia, the device has made another appearance at the FCC. It was spotted going through the FCC back in September, and this time there seems to be a slight change in wireless radio functionality.

The hybrid convertible was unveiled at Computex, back in June this year, and now seems ready to hit store shelves across the length and breadth of the United States in the next few weeks.

One of the more versatile hardware devices, the Transformer Book Trio can be used in three different ways, in three different modes. Two operating systems power the device.

When used as a tablet, it runs the Android operating system. A Clover Trail+ processor is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage capacity.

But by attaching the keyboard to the screen, users can use this device as a laptop. An Intel Haswell processor with 4GB of RAM keeps things nice and steady. In this mode, the device runs Windows 8, and comes with a 500GB hard disk on board.

And finally, taking the keyboard away and attaching the device to an external monitor provides a certified desktop experience. Buyers in the US should soon be able to get this device, once it gets the necessary approval from the FCC.
