Rumor Says Nokia Lumia 1820 Will Sport A 5.2-Inch Display With Snapdragon 805 Chip

We first heard about the Lumia 1820 last year. It was said to be Microsoft’s first Lumia handset after completing the acquisition of Nokia. And now some more information has floated up.

Information, in this case being, technical details and specifications.

The same source that has leaked details of the Lumia 1525, the upcoming successor of the Lumia 1520, claims that the Nokia Lumia 1820 is on track for arrival in the first quarter of the year.

According to the details posted by @NextLeaks, the Lumia 1820 may launch with looks similar to the Lumia 928, however it will be a little large in size, thanks to its rumored 5.2-inch screen that would be able to display a 2K resolution — think 2048 by 1080 pixels.

Rather unusual aspect ratio, but there you have it.

Additionally, this handset is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 805 processor that will be paired by 3GB or RAM and 32GB of internal storage. A microSD card is not mentioned, meaning the device could actually arrive with unibody design.

Just like the Lumia 1525, the Lumia 1820 will offer the same connectivity options and a similar 3400mAh battery, but with a radically powerful camera.

Some of you may be aware of the Lytro camera that delivers a whole bunch of interesting features, including the ability to capture the entire light field. This can then be used to create images with incredible depth of field, while keeping everything in focus.

Qualcomm has packed similar capabilities in its Snapdragon 805 mobile processor, so there is a fair chance that newer Nokia handsets, including the Lumia 1820, may offer this feature.

Nothing is official yet, though, so file everything above as a rumor. But this is actually the third time we are hearing about the Lumia 1820, and with the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2014) in Barcelona just weeks away, we just may find out complete details.
