Here Is The Video That Shows The Returning Start Menu In Action

One of the bigger news stories, at least in the world of computing technology, was the official confirmation that Microsoft would be bringing back the Start Menu in a future update for Windows.

For obvious reasons, of course — in order to make the desktop environment more familiar for users of its modern operating platform. The company actually announced this at the recently concluded BUILD 2014 developer conference.

And if you wanted to see how the returning Start Menu might look, Microsoft have released the video footage from the event that revealed the interface for the first time.

The video is embedded below:

It shows many of the familiar options to go with some new ones. The Run feature is there, as are Power Controls. But the software titan has also thrown in Live Tiles and all that Modern goodness!

Now, there are some early rumors that this is just a mockup of the Start Menu that will return to the operating system in the near future, and not an indication of the final look.

And it is easy to understand why.

Since this feature is still in development, Microsoft probably created this concept to show off at BUILD, and at the same time, gather some feedback from users. It is a very appealing design, as you can see, and the final version could well be along these lines.

But since so specifics are provided, every possibility is up in the air for the time being.
