Let’s start the new week with a Super Mario Bros. clone. Because, why not? The game remains one of the most cloned ones of all time, with similar games being released on pretty much all platforms.
The Windows Store also gets in on the action with Croc’s World.
Interestingly, this is a simplified version of the game, perfect for players of all ages, notably evident from the fun characters and colorful visuals it offers. It can also be played with a keyboard in addition to the usual touch controls.
Before we get to that, the official description:
“Croc´s World is a really nice jump’n’run with 30 incredible levels and many challenging enemies! Jump and run through the levels and dodge all enemies. Collect a helmet to crush stoneblocks. Collect the stonebag to throw stones. If you collect 100 diamonds you´ll get an extra life!”
The developers seem to have an affinity of inventing new words, as is evident from the description!
You are tasked with reaching the exit in each level, which you can do so by avoiding, jumping on or shooting the various creatures. Controls are pretty basic — left, right and jump.
Although recently released, this free game has been a bit of a hit with users, boasting quite a few downloads to go with a reasonably high rating. It is also one of the few universal apps on the Store, meaning it works on Windows PCs and Windows Phone smartphones. ARM based ones too.
