Windows 8.1 App Watch: Issuu

We mark the arrival of another new high profile app that has landed on the Windows platform. The official Issuu app is now available for fans of the Modern UI of Microsoft’s modern OS.

For those of you out the loop, this app allows you to browse magazines and catalogs, created by more than 1.5 million publishers around the globe. In fact, the company basically invites you to get lost in a world of free publications — with well over 15 million publications currently available for free.

But before you do, here is the official description:

“Enjoy unlimited access to magazines, catalogs and more from wherever you are, whenever you like, at no cost. Stack collections of your favorite magazines and share them across social networks. Issuu’s smart content recommendation engine learns as you read and delivers a personalized and continuous stream of new, relevant and interesting magazines for you to browse.”

You are asked to create an account or sign in after launching the app, which you can do so using credentials like Facebook, Google Plus, LinkedIn, or the good old email.

A wide variety of topics are available that might interest you, from science and technology to fashion and photography, sports, food, travel, everything! Academic papers and even primary textbooks can be accessed via thousands of educational publications that are easily accessible via the built in search.

Magazines are available as scans, but they can easily be navigated using this free app, which currently has a perfect five rating at the store. For a reason, people! It supports all versions of Windows, including those powered by ARM based processors.
