Surface Pro 3 Goes On Sale Tomorrow, Starts At $799

Microsoft calls the just announced Surface Pro 3 as its most powerful tablet ever. One look at it and you know it is also the company’s most stunning hardware creation. Ever.

And the best part? It can be in your hands in just a few days.

The company has priced the starting model of the device at $799, which basically is the Core i3 variant. Preorders will start at 12:01 am Eastern Time Wednesday at the Microsoft Store website — retail stores and retailers will start selling it in the United States and Canada June 20.

And although there were doubts that the new tablet might only be available in the US, in limited quantities, Microsoft have confirmed that it will go on sale in 26 other countries by the end of August.

Here is a list of all the Surface Pro 3 models, their hardware specification and prices:

  • Intel Core i3, 64 GB and 4 GB of RAM ($799)
  • Intel Core i5, 128 GB and 4 GB of RAM ($999)
  • Intel Core i5, 256 GB and 8 GB of RAM ($1,299)
  • Intel Core i7, 256 GB and 8 GB of RAM ($1,549)
  • Intel Core i7, 512 GB7 and 8 GB of RAM ($1,949)

In terms of hardware, the new tablet comes with a few neat enhancements.

Magnesium might be the primary color of this tablet, at least of the demo unit used in the event, but the biggest improvements have been reserved for the touch pen support on the device.

The Surface Pen stylus now comes with a button that takes a screenshot when pressed (or clicked). Improved recognition of entered text is also in, as are some refreshes to the Windows 8.1 build of OneNote, which can be used to take notes and store them in the cloud.
