Amusingly named, Microsoft Treasure Hunt is yet another in house creation, and yet another in house hit. The game brings a neat twist to the Minesweeper mechanics, and does so with a unique style.
You have to detect and avoid mines on the board, for starters.
This little hunt is then mixed up with some puzzle elements, where you have to mark the train that you feel is suspicious, as you try to reach the level exit — which is blocked by walls in the beginning. If you remove a wrong one, however, you lose one of your hearts.
The official description:
“Microsoft Treasure Hunt builds on Microsoft Minesweeper for Windows 8’s Adventure mode experience. Mark suspicious terrain and plan your moves carefully to uncover tools, weapons, and even hidden bonus levels filled with loot. Using the gold you collect, purchase supplies and permanent upgrades for your journey deep underground.”
This free game boasts the same high quality production values one expects from Microsoft Studios, and it is, at its core a puzzle adventure, as your character is a treasure hunter. For this reason, you will be doing what treasure hunters do best — picking up gold, gems and other riches on the map.
You also have to contend with spiders, mummies and all sorts of vile creatures, and the game also offers Xbox achievements and leaderboards. ARM support, obviously, included.
