Allview Impera I, Impera S Windows Phone 8.1 Handsets Launched

The list of Windows Phone OEMs just keeps on getting bigger. Romanian maker of smartphones, Allview just unleashed two of its first Windows Phone 8.1 handsets, the Impera I and the Impera S.

And not just that, the company has also released a Windows 8.1 tablet, the Impera i8.

Since Allview focuses on budget side of the market, both devices are highly affordable, but ultimately midrange. The Impera I can be had for $200 outright, while the Impera S comes with a price tag just north, at $215.

Onto specifications, then.

The Impera I sports a 4.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 720p HD resolution, and is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 1GB of RAM. Camera options include an 8 megapixel shooter on the back and a 2 megapixel option on the front.

Coming in at only 7.2mm thickness, the Impera I offers dual SIM capabilities, while offering 8GB internal storage and up to 32GB via the included microSD card slot.

Next up is the Impera S, which offers the same processor, memory and storage options, but sports a larger 5-inch display at 720p. That seems to be the only primary difference, other than design.

Although no release date has been announced, both smartphones are available for preorder in Romania. Chances are that the company will release them sometime in July, making these the first Windows Phone powered smartphones from a Romanian company.
