New Video Teases Microsoft Lumia 535 Ahead Of Release

As far as smartphones go, the Microsoft Lumia 535 is an important launch for the company. It is the entry level Lumia device, and has a lot going for it in terms of history.

Its predecessor, the Lumia 520 (along with the US only Lumia 521) climbed up atop the sales chart, and still commands the biggest market share in terms of Windows Phone hardware. The device it is replacing, the Lumia 530 also fared well, but it was not the overhaul users were expecting.

Now, on the eve of the official unveiling of the Lumia 535, we do have an idea that this new phone is set to address pretty much all of the complaints of its elder cousin.

Set to be the first Microsoft Lumia phone after the rebranding, the company has dropping hints about this smartphone for a few days now.

And to stir up interest even further, the company has rolled out a new video that shows someone unboxing the phone — yes, the device was not fully revealed, and can be barely spotted. But the clip is a tease, alright.

You can take a look at the video below:

Pretty good.

A quick rundown of the expected hardware, then.

A 5-inch IPS LCD with a qHD (960 x 540 pixels) resolution, quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB of RAM along with 8GB of internal storage (backed up by up to 128GB microSD card support) make up the base.

A 5 megapixel rear facing camera with autofocus, flash and 480p video recording, along with a front facing option and 1905 mAh battery round up the other specifications.

Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 powers the device that supports dual SIM and weighs in at 146g. Expect the newest handset firmware Lumia Denim to be installed. The only factors that are yet to be decoded is the pricing and availability.

But that should be revealed tomorrow, surely.
