The biggest day of the year is here! Well, it is, if you’ve been anticipating Age of Empires: Definitive Edition, which Microsoft officially released on the Microsoft Store today.

Exclusively, at that.

The remake, or remaster if you will, of the classic is now available for Windows 10 PCs.

It supports version 15063 and up of the operating system, and promises to deliver tons of nostalgia with more than 40 hours of campaign gameplay, and limitless fun with Xbox Live integration for online gaming with up to 8 players.

You also get new features like narration, some slight gameplay improvements, a new soundtrack, to go with some really neat 4K graphics. Though with this being a UWP game, it does miss out on advanced options and mod support.

Unless, the game makes its way to the Steam gaming platform.

Anyway, to celebrate the launch of this iconic game, Microsoft put together a video trailer:

Definitive, indeed.

Age of Empires: Definitive Edition certainly had a slightly longer than expected development period. Meant to arrive for the 20th anniversary of the series last year, the game was delayed one week before launch. And has been released after a lengthy beta period.

Priced at $19.99, the title comes with the original base game, as well as the Rise of Rome expansion, which means players have 16 different civilizations to play with.

Interestingly, the Windows 10 exclusive game has had a bit of a hiccup at start, with an odd bug that crashes it upon launch. This has meant that a lot of the buyer have given it 1-star rating on the Microsoft Store shortly after it was made available to download.

But overall, the reviews have been positive, and Microsoft wants to use this game as an incentive to bring people to buy and download from its fledgling Windows 10 store.

If you’re ready to give it a try, then you can download the game from the link below.
