Yahoo! is one technology giant that has wholeheartedly embraced Windows 8. The Internet portal readily develops applications for Microsoft’s newest platform — no fuss, no mess, just pure coding.
The latest to arrive is the self-explanatory, Yahoo! Finance.
Those of you who live and breathe financial data will appreciate the one click access to all sorts of charts and graphs. Once signed in, the hub in the app takes an entirely different appearance, providing access to customized data.
The official description keeps things nice and simple:
“The Yahoo! Finance app brings to you a combination of market and stock information, financial news hot off the press and access to your investment portfolios in an aesthetically pleasing package.”
And speaking of nice and simple, the app is exactly that, as it aims to provide users with watchlists and portfolios along with the latest news happenings.
The US market as well as finances of popular companies, obviously take the center stage.
But on the whole, the free app works as expected and offers plenty of functionality in a flawless package that is perfectly suited for all installations of Windows 8 — desktop and tablet.
The overall design and user interface of the applications is dark and shady, providing a nice change of design pattern from other similar applications and their all white interfaces. And as one would expect, the layout is as engaging as it is attractive.
