Microsoft and Apple may not be the best of friends, but things improved a lot between both companies in recent years. The Surface Pro 3, however, seems to have put a little fuel to the fire.
Just a little.
Redmond has made it a point targeting Apple hardware these past few months — though this has been done in a casual, fun manner, as opposed to say the hard and fast blasting of Google with their Scroogled campaign.
Windows Phone Cortana ads, for example, take the fight to Apple Siri on the iPhone, while on the tablet front, the company’s latest creation, the Surface Pro 3, dukes it out with the MacBook Air.
Microsoft, ever so often, touts its tablet as being better than the thin and light Air.
And in many ways, it is.
However, there have been plenty of talk that Apple has been working on a larger iPad have, for years now. But it appears that things are moving towards this possibility at a fast pace, as new details of the rumored 12-inch iPad have emerged.
An early copy of the November edition of Mac Fan magazine reveals a leaked blueprint of the 12-inch tablet, which is on track for a 2015 release. Apple plans to call it the iPad Air Plus.
With dimensions of 12.02 x 8.68 x 0.27 inches, the most interesting feature of this upcoming slate will be the four speakers it houses — one at each corner of the device. That should be more than enough to ensure rich sound regardless of the orientation.
It is also expected to be powered by a new A9 processor, and is set for a debut between the months of April and June, next year.
