They say that work on Windows never stops at Microsoft. And now you can add the Surface tablets to this list. A new Surface Pro model saw daylight just a few months back.
And you can bet that someone is working at the next Surface slate at Redmond right now.
The technology titan pretty much confirmed in a blog post today that a new Surface Pro model is under development. However, we don’t have any specifics to go with the statement, including estimated launch time frame and hardware circuitry.
Take a look at the phrasing below:
“We are pleased to share that the following Surface Pro 3 accessories are designed with our product roadmap in mind and will be compatible with the next generation of the “Pro” line of Surface.”
Well, that’s as close as we’ll get to here — the next generation of the Pro line of Surface.
However, that does dampen up expectations for the ARM based lineup of Microsoft’s tablets. While it’s still a bit premature to say that the Windows RT based Surface devices might completely disappear from the store shelves in the near and upcoming future, things aren’t exactly looking bright in this regard.
Through it though, it seems that the Surface Pro 3 has turned out to be quite a success for Microsoft.
Although we’ve not seen any concrete numbers yet, we have not heard any negative reports on sales of this deluxe tablet either. Seems like third time’s the charm for Microsoft’s Pro tablet.
