Got to admit, the various special subsections that Microsoft creates on its Windows Store do showcase the creativity of the people behind the scenes. Take this latest one for example.

Microsoft has just rolled out a special new category that brought together the best apps that bring together (go figure) PC, phone and Xbox — in other words, Windows 8, Windows Phone and Xbox 360.

Here is what the official description reads like:

“These apps are designed to give you a great experience across Windows, Windows phone, and Xbox 360. Start reading a book on your Surface and pick up where you left off on your phone, or a play a game on your PC against someone on an Xbox.”

Once you head in you are greeted with apps like CNN for Windows 8, Netflix, Xbox SmartGlass, Twitter, and WeatherBug. All big names, but several games are also in — Skulls of the Shogun, Wordament and Galactic Reign to name a few.

Almost all the games offer Xbox Live support, guaranteeing an addictive experience.

As is usually the case, this special new subsection provides users with a selection of the best Windows 8 they may have missed, so fire up the Windows Store, and head on over to the new subsection if you are interested. You just may find a gem.

No idea for how long this temporary section will be available, so make haste if you want to take a peek.

    • Chances are Microsoft may have not rolled it out for all markets. Sometimes it does it. I would have loved a single market for the Windows Store, but understandably legalities probably dictate otherwise.
