Windows has always had largely solid wizards that help you troubleshoot problems related to hardware and software in the operating system. And Windows 10 adds an even more helpful touch.

Distressed PC users can now find a consolidated collection of all troubleshooting tools in a single location. This was added to the OS in the Creators Update, and if you run into trouble, this is the first place you should be running to.

It includes a whole bunch of troubleshooters that can help you find and fix common issues.

Issues ranging from Internet connections to Windows updates, printers to playing sound, apps and video playback to Windows Store apps — everything here is neatly sorted, clearly marked, and a single tap or click away.

This is how you can troubleshoot problems in Windows 10.

1. Open Settings.

2. Go to Update & security, and then Troubleshoot.

3. Scroll through the list to find the closest match to the problem you have encountered, and then click on the section to open it up. You will now see a Run the troubleshooter button.

4. Click or tap on that to launch the troubleshooter, and it will open up in a new window. The processes of finding and fixing the issues are automatic, more or less, and the wizard will list the solutions after doing some quick scans that you can act upon.
