Low end machines are all the rage these days, even on the Windows platform. And the HP Stream 11 laptop is leading the charge, both when it comes to design and price.

Brand name vendors have now started to give white label Chinese company a run for their money when it comes to pricing of these Windows powered machines. Both Toshiba and HP have unveiled several new such devices in the past couple of months.

But this highly affordable machine takes it to another extreme, by costing just $200 — and you get one free year of Office 365 Personal and a $25 Windows Store gift card to go with your purchase.

Here are the basic hardware specifications:

  • 2.16 GHz Intel Celeron processor
  • 2 GB RAM
  • 32 GB storage
  • 11.6-inch screen
  • 1366 x 768 pixels resolution
  • 8.25 hours battery

Standard connectivity options are also in, including WiFi and USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports.

The HP Stream 11 may not be up for more resource intensive processes, but for basic computing tasks like email, web browsing and documents, the machine can stand on its own. Combined with the flexibility of Windows 8.1, this laptop may well interest students and kids.

Not really. 🙂 It’s WordPress acting up, something like this already happened with numbers in the Microsoft quarterly financial earnings call.

Thanks for the heads up, Hugo, will fix it in a moment.
