As expected. Although it does not come with revolutionary new hardware, the HTC One M8 has now become the fastest Windows Phone in the world.

Overtaking the previous champion, the Nokia Lumia 1520 in the process.

The Android powered HTC One M8 is already one of the best performing smartphones around, and since the Widows Phone variant comes with the same internal circuitry, fans of Microsoft’s mobile operating platform were anticipating this recently unveiled device to take the crown.

And it has, in style.

As the benchmarks posted here show, HTC One M8 for Windows is faster than the previous title holder, the Nokia Lumia 1520, if only by small margins.

Which means, Windows Phone users that are on the latest hardware, or that own devices the caliber of the Lumia 1520 will perhaps not have the need to upgrade.

Many others probably will, considering the fact that HTC is said to be planning international launches of the HTC One M8 in the coming months, starting with Europe. Be interesting to see what kind of numbers this newly release device manages to pull off in terms of sales.
