Boy, Lumia 520 users are really lucky! Microsoft has initiated the Lumia Denim update rollout for more regions around the globe, including Europe and Asia Pacific, and the firmware is now up for grabs.
The rollout began in China yesterday, and it is now being pushed worldwide.
Microsoft, it appears, is focusing on the more popular handsets first, meaning not everyone is getting the new software early on. Flagship owners are sure to be just a tad frustrated, as the handsets with the most market share are getting Lumia Denim first and the rest of the lineup will receive it later.
You can check up on the full list here for Europe and here in the Asia Pacific region.
Countries like Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, Hungary, Italy and Macedonia are all receiving the new firmware version.
However, European owners of flagship devices like the Lumia 930 and 1520 need not bother checking for the new version, as it has not launched for these smartphones. However, the notification is starting to show up on models like the Lumia 925 and 1020, according to reports.
It shouldn’t be too long now before everyone gets invited, even though the focus clearly on the low end segment of the market.
Rollouts like this depend not only on Microsoft, but carriers as well.
