Flagship devices like the Lumia 930 and the Lumia 1520. The Lumia Denim update is nearly upon us, and word is that Microsoft is now applying finishing touches to its newest firmware.
And the release strategy is simple and straightforward this time around.
The company plans to update the flagships first, meaning that compatible smartphones will get the update notification this month, November. As noted above, if you own a Lumia 930 or the Lumia 1520, you’ll be among the first to be updated.
Other makes and models will have to wait, in some cases up to a couple of months.
These details coma via reliable Microsoft leaker of information, @Nawzil8, who claims that the rollout is very likely to extend until the end of the year — at least.
Microsoft has lined up a range of enhancements in this Lumia Denim update, making it quite an anticipated release for fans of the Windows Phone platform. Improvement included in the Windows Phone 8.1 Update are also in, meaning users will be able to upgrade directly to it.
Cortana, for example, will be expanded to more devices.
Users in the UK and China will continue to play with the beta version of the digital voice assistant service, while people in Australia, Canada and India will receive access to the public alpha.
Other improvements include Live Folders, Apps Corner, SMS merge and forwarding, snooze times and live tiles for the Store. Plenty of camera enhancements too that make imaging much more intuitive and faster on Lumia devices.
