Fans of Lumia smartphones are anticipating the release of the Lumia Cyan update that is expected to bring a lot of new features and improvements to these handsets.
Now, some of these enhancements have already been confirmed — but a detailed lowdown of all the features is yet to be provided by Microsoft. Luckily, former Nokia imaging experts, Juha Alakarhu and Eero Salmelin, who are now Redmond employees have offered some new insights.
They were kind enough to answer some questions in an AMA Session.
And according to them, Nokia Lumia 1520, Lumia 930 and Icon smartphones can expect these improvements once they deploy the Lumia Cyan update:
Better colors, better video quality, continuous autofocus, and more importantly, much improved low light performance, to go with RAW images looking better due to the sensor being used more cleverly.
But that’s not all.
The Creative Studio app is to get a revamp, and the new Storyteller application included in the Cyan update will come with a Story sharing feature that allows sharing of Living Images as videos.
A few other improvements are listed at the link above.
Exclusive to Lumia smartphones, the Nokia Lumia Cyan update is expected to arrive soon after Microsoft officially starts rolling out Windows Phone 8.1 for the general public — which could be at the end of this month, according to most estimates.
