There is a slight chance that Microsoft might release an early build of Windows 8 to the technical community next week.

Next week, Microsoft is holding its Worldwide Partner Conference from July 11 through July 14.

Reliable sources are speculating that Microsoft will release a Community Technical Preview (CTP) at the conference.

CTP builds are not intended for end users but are recommended only for developers, IT professionals, and the technical community.

Interestingly, the website has this key paragraph

WPC’s 2011 keynote line up will be better than ever before. Hear from Steve Ballmer – CEO, Kevin Turner- COO, Jon Roskill– corporate VP of the Worldwide Partner Group and other key Microsoft Executives. Get the roadmap for 2012, hear their vision and strategies for business direction, customer campaigns, upcoming launches and more.

It’s impossible to do a roadmap for 2012 without extensive discussion of Windows 8.

WinRumors have spoken to a pair of company insiders who said Microsoft will detail its next PC operating system “substantially” so expect a busy week next week on this site.

The BUILD conference in September will shed even more light on Windows 8.
