We do know for a fact that Microsoft is working on quite a few things. New versions of Windows, Windows Phone and Office for example. Another example is a unified apps repository.
A unified apps repository for all Windows devices.
Talk of this unified Windows Store is not new, of course. We’ve been hearing about it for a year or so. But with the two stores (Windows Store and Windows Phone Store) going past the 500,000 apps mark, Microsoft have a reason to celebrate.
And celebrating they are.
This snazzy new ad, titled “Windows Store: Apps” promotes universal apps that work on all devices powered by the Windows platform, and how these applications run smarter on it.
Give this video a watch below:
And here is the description that Microsoft have put up for the clip:
“Take a closer look at how apps run smarter on Windows. They sync between devices to work across phones, tablets and PCs, and they run up to four at a time, side-by-side. With game apps, lifestyle apps, entertainment apps, social apps and more, Windows Store has the apps you want. Learn more at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsapps.”
It is a 30 seconds commercial, with a fair chance that it will soon be airing on television screens across the globe. With the holiday season upon us, now is as good a time as any for this type of marketing.
Plus it should further help the software titan close the app gap on its platform.
As for the ad itself, it’s a really well put together piece of commercial. Creative, and shows off the Windows ecosystem in just the right light.
