Microsoft: Surface Is The Toughest Tablet On The Market

Say what you may about the sales performance of Microsoft’s Surface tablets, there is no two opinions about the fact that these are extremely well made devices. Both the Surface RT and the Surface Pro have a unique premium feel to it.

And Redmond is once again bringing the Surface RT in the spotlight by emphasizing the fact that its first ever tablet is very much the toughest device available in the market right now.

Bold claim — but not an unfounded one, it must be said.

A surprising little post on the official Surface blog highlights the fact that the Surface passed through intensively rigorous tests in the company’s very own Reliability Lab, and the slate is as rock solid and reliable as they come.

Here is the accompanying video that details the process:

As Dan Laycock, senior manager, Microsoft Surface, explains:

“I reap the benefits of this team’s hard work every day as both my Surface Pro and Surface RT still look great and are going strong. It’s good to know that, long before you bought your Surface, the good folks in the reliability lab applied their considerable skills to make sure it will stand up to the rigors of life in the real world.”

It is a neat little insight into the build quality of the Surface tablets, and what owners can expect from their tablets when it comes to reliability and dependability.

Microsoft is already preparing the second generation units, and it stands to reason that the company will employ similar (and improved) techniques to set apart its brand from the myriad of Windows 8.1 slates that are expected to hit store shelves later this year.
