The final version of Internet Explorer 11 is set to debut as the default web browsing application in Windows 8.1, and Microsoft is wasting no opportunity to let the world know just how good its latest browser is.
For Redmond, it is the best choice when it comes to regular daily browsing — for a number of reasons.
Internet Explorer 11 now supports a maximum of 100 different tabs in Metro mode, while also packing a number of enhancements that boost speed and enhance the touch usage. And this is without even talking about the support for several modern web technologies that Microsoft has built in.
This new video from Microsoft does a dandy job of showcasing this:
Microsoft has also explained several of the new features in an official blog post, from the richer suggestions that IE 11 offers, to organization of favorites and more:
“IE11 delivers the best daily browsing experience for getting to your sites quickly and using them together with Windows Store apps in Windows 8.1. Browsing feels fast, fluid and perfect for touch with many tabs, richer suggestions, organized favorites and side-by-side experiences for comparing sites and using sites with Windows Store apps together.”
The upcoming version of Internet Explorer is currently available in preview form with Windows 8.1 Preview, and is set to be pushed out of beta once the new operating system hits RTM status sometimes in August.
