Ha, never saw this one coming! Although it may sound a tad peculiar, but Microsoft will launch its Black Friday deals on Thursday.

A banner posted on Microsoft Store’s official website confirms that the sales will start at 12 AM on Thanksgiving Day for most of its products.

I say most because if you are planning to purchase a Surface tablet at a special deal, you will still have to wait until Friday.

Microsoft is well aware that its tablet could (and should) be the biggest success of its Black Friday deals, and with this in mind slotted in on the day itself.

“Deals go live at 12:00 AM PST with exception of $50 off Second Surface cover. That offer is valid—11/23 – 11/25. Limit up to 5 per customer,” a note explained.

You can save $50 for a second Type or Touch Cover when you buy a Surface tablet, while a few Xbox 360 console bundles have with price cuts of $100.

A Vizio 14-inch ultrabook is $150 off, while Office Home and Student 2010 come in at $99.99 and $50 below their original price.

One surprising omission is a special deal for Windows 8, Microsoft’s latest OS, which has already recorded a disappointing launch in the technology circles.

Who knows, a Microsoft Store Black Friday deal for Windows 8 may yet be coming, but other vendors, both online and off, have already prepared special prices for Microsoft’s flagship operating system.
