The smartwatch industry has to deal with skeptics and doubters at this earliest of stages, even though a wide variety of models are now available, from companies large and small.
However, the Moto 360 smartwatch from Motorola is the one that is gathering the most interest.
How it fares will, ultimately, depend upon a lot of different factors, with price being one of the most important of dynamics. In fact, what it will retail for might set the tone and mood for future hardware, including upcoming smartwatches from both Apple and Microsoft.
Well, the good news is that we now have some rumors to go by, as far as the pricing is concerned.
There is talk that Motorola will price the Moto 360 a price tag of £199 in the UK. With a direct conversion, this comes in at $337 (or €249), which is significantly high. But then again, prices in the United Kingdom are usually the highest for most products sold around the world.
And very often, vendors just flip the currency signs around.
So by this logic, there are signs that it might retail for $199 in the United States, which makes for a much better reading. Either way, we should find soon enough.
The Motorola Moto 360 is on track to officially be up for preorder on June 25, 2014.
