The dearth of official clients on the Windows Store was filled to some extent by the various official apps marked their appearance last year, including Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, and more.
But on the flipside, this shortage has led to third-party developers cooking up their own solutions.
We reviewed one such client for Vine, a little while back. Titled Canopy, this is one of the more popular social apps available for Windows 8.1, and has just received a fresh new coat of paint recently. If you have been using this, fire up your download engines — this update is not to be missed.
Not only does it now come with a fresh new design for Windows 8.1 that is much more streamlined than the earlier one, this new version also brings a number of really helpful additions.
The feature set is suitably rich — you can browse channels and feeds, like and revine posts, search for users and tags, comment your heart out, view your activity, edit your profile, and share to social sites, without ever leaving the Modern UI.
Canopy supports all Windows 8.1 processors, including ARM, and the touch optimized interface makes this a great option for Surface and Surface 2 tablet owners.
You can take a look at the app here on the Windows Store.
