Unofficial word on the matter is that the first ever refresh of Windows 8.1 will be with us in just a little over 6 weeks. Windows 8.1 Update 1 is on track for an April launch.

This means that there is no shortage of details, speculation and screenshots that try to provide us with hints to everything that will be new in this new version. All things considered, however, this is more of a refinement release and not something that is expected to be high on new features.

But leaked screenshots area leaked screenshots, as they say.

And a new one has just surface. Wzor has just posted a new screen grab from build 17019 of Windows 8.1 Update 1. This is the escrow build, as they call it, and while the image does not show anything terribly exciting, it does show that development on Update 1 is almost wrapped up.

Feast your eyes on it below:

In case you are wondering whether this escrow build will leak out in the near future, and be made available for download, there are actually no pointers in this regard.

Some more screenshots, however, are said to be in order before the week is out, and they might provide hints at anything that is new in this version. Fingers crossed for something more exciting!
