Microsoft took a bunch of reporters for a private press gathering this past weekend and gave them a behind the scenes look at the Microsoft Surface.

At that private event, they got to see dozens of prototypes of what would become Microsoft’s first tablet.

Panos Panay, general manager of the team behind the Microsoft Surface and Steven Sinofsky, President of Windows, led the tour.
