With the preview version of Windows 8.1 all set to launch on June 26, Microsoft has started updating all the built-in Windows 8.1 apps to bring them up to speed with the upcoming OS.

They all look more polished now as we head into the week of release of the preview build.

Those of you who have installed the various leaked builds of Windows 8.1 can now update these built in apps and take a look at all the new features. And those of you that have not can thank YouTube user bavogames that has posted this clip posted on the video sharing website.

As reported, the Windows Store has now been open for business since the weekend, meaning users on the various leaked builds of Windows 8.1 are allowed to download and install apps just as they would on a regular Windows 8 machine.

All the apps that you see in the video above have been updated using the integrated Windows Store, but the final version of Windows 8.1 will obviously do this automatically, as Microsoft has made app updating a completely automated process.

For now though, share your thoughts on how you feel these new apps look in the comments section.
