Those of you keeping count of high profile app releases for Windows Phone, can now add another one to your list. The official Pinterest app has now been made available for download.

In beta form, mind you, but version 1.0.0.0 is here in all its visual glory.

Which is great, because this is one social network that is more about visuals than text — the visual discovery tool is one of the fastest growing sites around, and the arrival of an official app is another confirmation of the sustained developer interest in the Windows Phone platform.

Windows Phone’s very own Joe Belfiore tweeted the announcement just minutes ago:

“WELCOME TO #WP, PINTEREST! Get it now!”

Well, I’m sure many will, Joe.

For the uninitiated, pins (on Pinterest, at least) are visual bookmarks that users can organize and share.

This premier version of the app works with both Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 8.1 and sports a Metro inspired interface that makes browsing, viewing and searching an effortless affair. It is a small download at just 1MB, but fans of the service will appreciate the clean and minimal design.

You can grab Pinterest for Windows Phone as a free download here.
