A new Windows 8 leak reveals the newly revamped handwriting recognition support for the upcoming Windows 8 operating system.

It’s obviously from the look and feel of it a Metro style application.

This image is from PCBETA.

As you can see from the image, the new Handwriting Tool is completely redesigned.

This will be huge for the Windows 8 Tablets category. If Microsoft can implement character recognition well, this becomes an obious advantage over the Ipad. It will absolutely be a huge talking point that will differentiate Windows 8 Tablets from Ipads as serious work devices.

As you all know, Ipads have traditionally been slammed as media consumption devices that don’t allow you to do “real work”.

Microsoft have an opening.
