Gotta love high-profile jobs. Even when you are out, you are not.

Case in point: Steven Sinofsky, who announced last week that he was leaving Microsoft.

While his resignation has been confirmed, Sinofsky still remains an employee at Microsoft – till the end of the year, at that.

This was revealed in a Form 8-K filing that Microsoft sent to the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

So while he Sinofsky may be looking for a new job, the former Windows boss is still getting a paycheck from Microsoft until December 31.

As for what he earned at the company, Microsoft said in an October filing that Sinofsky’s annual salary stood (or in this case still stands at) $8,583,732, with a base of $658,333 and a bonus of $1,530,000.

This is in addition to the 650,000 Microsoft shares that he owns, worth about $17.5 million at the time of this writing.

Ah, the good life!
