Not again, for the love of clear blue skies, not again! Microsoft very recently announced the Surface Power Cover but the device seems to be selling really well, so much so that it is no longer in stock at the company’s online storefront.
That, or once again, Microsoft only ordered a small initial batch.
In any case, this does not reflect all too well on things, as this is one accessory that could be a hit with pro and power users of the company’s Surface tablets. But Redmond notes that the accessory will start shipping on Wednesday — provided all goes well, and it can get in more stock.
The Surface Power Cover is, obviously, exclusively available at Microsoft Store website.
First announced all the way back in October 2013, the company claims that this device can recharge the tablets and offer up an additional 70 percent more battery life, according to initial tests, that is.
It only works with the Surface 2, the Surface Pro 2 and the original Surface Pro, though.
Obviously, the tablets require special firmware updates (that Microsoft released as part of this month’s Patch Tuesday cycle) before they can be used for the first time. So if you have ordered the Surface Power Cover, then do make sure you install these updates first.
The rest that are interested in buying the accessory will have to wait until Wednesday.
