Surface Pro 3 Screen Rated As One Of The Best Ever

By the fine folks over at DisplayMate. The Surface Pro 3 is Microsoft’s largest table to date, and judging by the results of this test, it comes with one of the very best displays.

As revealed here, the Surface Pro 3 is a highly advanced piece of hardware that features the most accurate colors on the market — beating many other similar devices out there, including the iPad Air and the Galaxy Tab S.

DisplayMate points out:

“Microsoft has produced an excellent professional grade high performance display for Windows. In fact, the Surface Pro 3 has one of the very best and most accurate displays available on any mobile platform and OS.

It joins near the top of a small set of Tablets that have excellent Top Tier displays – ideal for professionals that need a very accurate high performance display for their work, and for consumers that want and appreciate a really nice and beautiful display.”

Although its peak brightness of 371 nits is a few notches lower than the iPad Air (449 nits) and the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 (527 nits), this is not particularly an issue for most users.

The reason being that the slate is less likely to be operated outdoors, owing to its large screen size.

However, the Surface Pro 3 has the most accurate colors of all tablets on the market — an important factor for professionals and regular users alike that use it to view photos, watch videos, edit documents, or create artistic or multimedia content.

The full test, along with details is available at the link above, and is a rather illuminating read.

It’s a great device. It’s very rare you see anyone being honest about Microsoft products

You’re right Ray. Hating on Microsoft is easy (and justified sometimes) nowadays. I get it for some things, but if Apple or Google released the Surface Pro 3, I think there would be tons of hype and positive reviews around it. So much of it is perception!

The screen isn’t the issue with this device. There’s no doubting it’s physical beauty and capability. The issue is the amount of problems that have arisen through software updates that shouldn’t happen with an expensive tablet like this one!
