Tired of all the Windows Phone 8.1 updates? What, already? The fun is just starting! Microsoft opened up the SDK of the upcoming mobile operating system to developers recently, and details have been coming out at a sustained pace.
One of the more useful features that was rumored to be part of this OS refresh is a virtual keyboard with Swype like abilities — fancy name for typing using simple swipes on the touchscreen.
A very short video has floated up that shows the feature in action. It is a 20 (or so) second clip, and you only get to see the action from far out, but this seems to be confirmation enough that Microsoft is adding this feature in Windows Phone 8.1.
Take a look at the video below:
This feature has been a part of other mobile platforms, and many Android users live and breathe it to type up text messages or post content on the web. If you are one of these and want to see it in Microsoft’s mobile platform, then you are in luck.
Soon typing on your Windows phone could be faster and easier — if you take to Swype, that is.
The big question is when will Microsoft bring this feature to Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1? A feature like this could come real handy on smaller tablets powered by Windows.
Update 1 is as good a time as any, then, don’t you think?
