And we have another delay! The Wileyfox Pro Windows 10 Mobile has slipped by on its release date, although not by much. It was intended to launch today, December 4.
But it seems that the company has delayed its arrival by to weeks, to December 18.
Wileyfox, a British smartphone manufacturer actually showcased this handset at IFA 2017, all those moons ago. And it very recently went up for preorder on Amazon late last month, with customers in the UK getting access to their own piece for £189.99.
However, the company has silently pushed the release date by a couple of weeks, and will be shipping it by the middle of the month.
Although there has been no comment from the company on the reasoning behind this change in release date, it does bring it pretty close to Christmas. This also makes it less likely that everyone will receiver their devices on time, what with the delivery issues that usually pop up leading to the holidays.
In any case, at least we know the phone is coming.
As a recap, the phone offers entry level specifications, with its 5-inch 720p HD IPS display hiding a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. There are two cameras, an 8MP rear one and a 2MP front facing one, with a 2,100 mAh battery.
Interestingly, the Amazon listing states that the phone will be supported until mid-2020, which is a relief when you think about it.
Let’s see how this one fares once it launches later this month.
