Windows 10 Build 18272 Comes In ISO Form

Microsoft has released a new Insider Preview of version 19H1 of its operating system, with Windows 10 build 18272 landing in the Fast ring of the program, bringing a bunch of goodies.

And to make things even more interesting, the company has also released ISOs for this version.

This latest preview of the next version of the OS comes with a pretty long changelog, but in terms of fresh additions there are only some touchups to Snip & Sketch, Sticky Notes 3.1 and more. Oh, and it also redesigns sign-in options.

Basically, the focus is on refinements to existing features.

Which is fine, which is fine.

No word yet on the return of Sets, which a feature that made its debut in Redstone 4 testing, was left out, got back in Redstone 5 testing, and was once again delayed. It’s still on, though — Microsoft wants to get it absolutely right, apparently.

Anyway, let’s get down to what build 18272 brings.

Build 18272 Sign-In Options

Starting things off is the redesign of sign-in options, which has been tinkered for Windows Hello. Microsoft has basically condensed each option into a list that explains individual properties, which the company hopes will make you feel more informed.

Build 18272 SwiftKey Typing Intelligence

There are some input improvements here too, including the expansion of SwiftKey Typing Intelligence to more languages. Hardware keyboard text suggestions are also supported in these languages.

Build 18272 Indic Phonetic

Build 18272 Language Hindi

On the topic of languages, we have an Indic Phonetic keyboard that is available for PCs.

Moving on, there are a few accessibility improvements, mostly related to Narrator. It now alerts you when you accidentally type with the Caps Lock turned on.

Build 18272 Snip & Sketch

Build 18272 Snip & Sketch Settings

Snip & Sketch may be the newest kid on the block, but Redmond has added a few new features for this application, while also giving it a new settings page. Still a country mile to travel before it can rival other screen capture solutions, but it’s on its way.

Build 18272 Sticky Notes

Build 18272 Sticky Notes Syncing

Same can be said of Sticky Notes 3.1, which picks up some nice new features. Details of which you can glean from the blog post here.

Overall, this is neat little progression for 19H1.

Even as there is no word on the Windows 10 October 2018 Update and when it will start rolling out for users after it was pulled due to a number of bugs that has wreaked havoc on some PCs. Hopefully, we get to hear some good news on it soon.

In the meantime, Windows 10 build 18272 is here to delight.

And better yet, as mentioned above, ISO files are also available for this version to make getting started with 19H1 previews easier for you.
