Windows 10 Fall Creators Update Rollout Is Complete

Finally! It has been almost three months since Microsoft starting rolling out Windows 10 Fall Creators Update to users, and this new version of the OS has now reached full availability.

The initial rollout was a staggered affair — as all Windows rollouts are.

And as the software titan explains in a new blog post, the reason for this was to ensure that devices that were believed to be the optimal recipients for the upgrade were targeted first. The company then used that data from the initial wave of upgrades to optimize the operating system for everyone.

In other words, the spaced out released was necessary to provide a smooth experience for all.

Redmond now feels confident enough that it is now making Fall Creators Update available to everyone, consumers and enterprise customers.

The company also touted the successes that this latest version of the operating system has achieved. It saw a quick adoption rate, reaching more than 100 million devices. And it also had the highest customer satisfaction ratings of all Windows 10 updates to date — which is mighty impressive.

Pat on the back, well earned.

This full availability means that everyone should see version 1709 of Windows 10 ready to be installed in the Windows Update tab of the Settings app.

Of course, if you are still unable to see it on your device, you can also manually start the process by pointing your web browser to the Software Download page that Microsoft maintains. In any case, your device will be upgraded to Fall Creators Update in a matter of minutes.

Or hours, what have you.

As for Microsoft, this is mission accomplished for the company. It can now look beyond to what’s next, and start focusing on whatever the next version of Windows 10 has in store for users.

Finally!
