Time for another blast from the past! This new version of Boulder Dash is the 30th anniversary remake from the creators of the original game that become a certified hit back in 1984.
As in to say, official as official gets.
This edition recently landed on the Windows Store and offers 160 levels that are included, along with an extra 80 that are available for purchase in-game. A total of 240 levels spread across 12 worlds make for a very engaging puzzle game.
Nothing much in the form of an official description, though:
“Boulder Dash®-30th Anniversary™ is getting great reviews!”
Below that line is a splattering of reviews from various sources, praising what is a very good game.
The gameplay remains classic — dig around, collect gems all the while avoiding monsters that you encounter along the way. A few other options are available, like the possibility of playing as different characters or special powers that come in handy in times of need.
In terms of visuals, this is right up there with other casual mobile titles. Bright graphics with some delightful characters scattered across the worlds. Boulder Dash retails for $6.99 with no trial version available, but the universal app works on all modern versions of Windows, x86, x64 and ARM.
