What do you get when you take an action shooter and turn it into a real-time strategy game? Why, Call of Duty: Heroes, of course! This official game by Activision brings it in terms of gameplay.

Like most strategy title, there are two facets to the title — base building and then either defending or attacking. Luckily, the game comes with some comprehensive tutorials that guide you through the base building and attacking aspects of the title.

Experienced RTS fans will be at home with all of these, though. You will have to build resource buildings, training and recruitment facilities as well as defense systems.

A selection from the official description:

“Experience the excitement of Call of Duty® like never before. Command an army of legendary heroes, elite soldiers, and devastating drones straight from the Call of Duty franchise in this 3D combat strategy game. Customize your base and train elite forces to dominate your enemies in fierce battles featuring fully controllable heroes and epic Killstreaks, like the first-person chopper gunner.”

Everything needs to be upgraded in the game if you want to make the most of your time.

You also get access to heroes from the Call of Duty franchise, along with player versus player combat and survival missions. Teaming up with friends is also a possibility.

Although free to play, the game comes with in-app unlockables that not only speed up builds but also recruitments. Visuals are neat, although rather surprisingly, the game requires either x86 or x64 versions of Windows to run. ARM support is missing.
