Windows 8.1 App Watch: Cooking With Kids

Simple name for an app, but hey, it’s the content that counts. Part of the Great British Chefs series, this is a cooking app that is specifically designed for recipes that parents can cook with their kids.

I told you these little kids have got it made these days!

Plenty of fun choices are available, many of them easy to make. Exclusive choices include London Eye tart, tropical fruit rockets, sweetcorn and tomato muffins, Rice Krispie fish fingers, popping chocolate orange bits, and more.

Here is a selection from the official description:

“The Cooking with Kids app, which follows the success of the Great British Chefs original app on the Windows 8 platform, features recipes from some of the most dynamic chefs in the country and which have been devised to encourage kids to get more involved in the preparation/cooking of the dishes.”

Some 210 recipes are available in this elegantly designed app — complete with beautiful high-definition photographs of the cooked dishes. And 29 high-profile chefs have contributed to the app, not just the recipes, but information about the difficulty, course, serves and timings.

Moral of the story, recipe and cooking apps rarely get better than this.

Since the app is designed with kids in mind, each recipe offers information on how children can participate in the creation of the dish. The free app is heavy on content and value, and this also translates to the file size which comes in at 203MB. ARM support is in, however.

This should be fun. I cook with my kids all the time. My partner is a great “MOM” and my best friend, BUT, she can’t boil water (Please don’t tell anyone I said that). It is a damn good thing the Koreans can freeze dry and dehydrate everything, cuz when I have to go to US she is left to do the cooking or getting delivery. Oh Yeah…she can make the best reservations of anybody I know. ^_^
