Important as it is, math is not exactly the easiest subject to get around. Windows 8 offers a few good mathematics apps, and Mathaly is another good addition to the ecosystem.
Joining the ranks of other popular educational solutions, this newly released application on the Windows Store is a designed for kids that are in grades 1 to 5, allowing them to practice concepts like arithmetic, fractions and geometry — basically all the scary stuff.
This is what the official description states:
“Mathaly is a highly adaptive Math practice game for students of Grade 1 to Grade 5. From number recognition to Geometry, Mathaly addresses every topic and skill as per the grade level. Our scientifically designed game play motivates kids to practice more and climb higher. Medals, stars, global Hall of Fame and fun problems keep them interested and help build a strong foundation.
Our Artificial Intelligence engine tailors the learning experience for each student as per his own speed and performance and provides him an experience where learning is driven by students’ pull rather than parents’ push. Hence, our kid-friendly environment encourages the child to return to the game over and over again. We invite you to join in our journey of discovering the student pull for Math with Mathaly.”
Pretty hefty blocks of text, perfectly explain what this well designed application is all about.
Now, this free app has all the makings of a hit, including cartoony characters, avatars, beautiful presentation, rewards, incentives, challenges and plenty of practice material. The focus, however, remains solidly on understanding primary math concepts.
Although not a universal app, Mathaly is available for all versions of Windows 8, including those designed for x86, x64 and ARM. Touch optimized, and a light download. Recommended.
