Another entertainment app, another necessary arrival on the Windows Store. This official MTV application provides users access to select shows from the channel.

That is, only if they sign in with their TV provider.

Select bonus clips and sneak peeks area available without signing in, however. MTV Shows supports all the big providers including Time Warner Cable, AT&T, Verizon, along with the usual suspects, and you get access to full episodes of shows like Awkward, Faking It, House of Food and more.

A selection from the official description:

“Watch MTV shows from your favorite Windows 8 device. Just sign in with your TV provider to watch recent episodes from select MTV series anytime and anywhere. Access is included with your TV subscription to participating providers. If your provider isn’t listed, don’t panic. We are working hard to get all TV providers to participate.”

The design and UI is wholly Metro complete with touch optimizations, and the app itself is a quick and breezy download at 2.1 MB. It also comes with a schedule so you can find out when a particular show is going air on TV.

This free app supports all modern versions of Windows, including Windows RT, meaning you can easily install it on ARM powered tablets like the Surface RT, Surface 2 and the Lumia 2520.

Wow! Thanks for this app watch! I’m a huge fan of ‘The Challenge’ and I’m not ashamed to admit it. Lol. I’ll be using this soon enough.

I too, love the challenge and also the real world. Outside of that, I think MTV has really gone downhill with their programming, but it’s good bad tv if that makes any sense. I’m grateful you posted this app.

Really cool app to share. I love MTV still (I know haha) and find myself watching more than I should. My issue is the amount of data this probably takes up. I should probably up my data plan.
