I think it can be said with reasonable conviction that Microsoft is the premier provider of games on the Windows Store. With help from internal studios, the company makes all sorts of exciting titles available for users of its modern operating system.

So it comes as no surprise that Redmond has launched another Windows 8.1 exclusive.

Secrets And Treasure: The Lost Cities is a puzzle game with an appealing set of features and an alluring amount of polish. The addictive gameplay has players exploring a world of ancient temples, exotic cities and colorful jungles, while training a crew and fighting enemies.

The official description reads:

“Battle your way through exotic locations and fiendish puzzles to discover treasure beyond your wildest imaginings. Uncover the secrets of the ancient world… and find out what really happened to legendary explorer Professor Flintlock!”

This free game makes great use of the 258.6MB download, packing a bright and vivid color palette to go with engaging puzzles. Daily challenges allow you to test you skill, while the cast remains the highlight.

Just like all other titles that come bearing Microsoft’s logo, this one is designed for both desktop computers and tablets, including those powered by Windows RT. Though you need to have Windows 8.1 installed, as this game only works on the newest version of the operating system.
